Microsoft has officially rolled out a new firmware (version 2.0.16547.0) for its Xbox 360 console. This update can either be installed directly from the console or can be downloaded via the link given below and then installed with a USB flash drive.
To install this update directly via Xbox Live, connect to the internet and then go to Settings > System Settings > Network Settings > Wired Network > Test Xbox Live Connection and then select ‘Yes’ when you are prompted to install the new update.

This updates brings a few improvements including:- Dashboard theme appearance problems fix
- Fixing missing Avatars
- Fixing the Kinect sensor (which started flashing green or red sensor light)
Installation Via USB Drive
Just follow these steps:- Format your USB to FAT32 system
- Download the update package here
- Unzip the package contents into the root of your USB
- Plug the USB to the console
- Restart your console
- Select ‘Yes’ upon update prompt
