Sony has officially pushed online a new firmware (Version 4.53) for its PlayStation 3 console that bringing improved system stability while using PS3 software and network services . You can either update your console using the built-in internet update or download the firmware manually via the link given below.
What’s New?
Following are some of the main update this firmware brings:- A new option “Closed Caption Settings” has been added for DVD and Blu-Ray movies under the video settings menu. Once set to off, you can alter advanced video settings for display method.
- A group of players can now be made who can see each other’s trophies. You can also specify whether trophies for a particular game are to be shown or not.
- PlayStation Network has been renamed to PSNSM
- After installing the firmware, whenever Automatic Updates will be set to “On”, your PS3 will start automatically everyday and download content items purchased with other devices along with latest system software, even without having PlayStation®Plus subscription, and then turn off.
How to Install
1. Update Via Internet:
To install the update via internet, go through Settings → System Update → Update via Internet and press X when the update is found. Then follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.2. Update Without Internet:
Download Link: Click here to download firmware version 4.53 for PS3In case internet connection is not available, you will first have to download the firmware package via the link above. Then create a new “Ps3″ folder in an external storage device (SD card, USB Mass drive). Within the Ps3 folder, create a new folder “UPDATE” and copy the downloaded file into this folder. Go through Settings → System Update → Update via Storage Media and select the update file. That’s it, you’re done!
To check firmware version, go through Settings → System Settings → System Information → System Software.
