Aorus Announces X7 Gaming Laptop

Recently, we have seen several gaming laptops with very slim design. While they are very close to Ultrabooks, in terms of performance they are still far away from traditional gaming laptops. The latest 17.3-inch Aorus X7 gaming laptop plans to change that.

Aorus, the Gigabyte sub-brand, show off its first product at CES 2014 and surprises everyone with it. The company looks to challenge Razer with the new gaming laptop lineup. While maintaining a sleek 22.9 mm body that weighs only 2.9 kg, the X7 notebook has some serious hardware inside.

The 17.3-inch X7 is powered by a quad-core 2.4GHz Intel "Haswell" Core i7-4700HQ and two Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M with 4 GB of total GDDR5 RAM. Users can choose up to 8 GB of system RAM, 256 GB of SSD storage or a 1 TB 5400 rpm HDD.

To keep the unit cool, the X7 uses 5 heatpipes and 2 fans which are part of its "Thermal+" technology. There are three customizable fan modes that users can choose from - auto, stealth and turbo.

In terms of connectivity, there are 3 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0, 2 x HDMI, mini-Display port, and an SD card reader. Moving on, there are LAN, 802.11AC Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. Aorus X7 is arriving in March with a price tag between $2,099 and $2,799.
